helping resilient Christian Women live with Joy and purpose
Discover the path to a Joy-Fueled Resilient,,
fulfilling life rooted in faith and personal development
What seems like a lifetime ago, I spent most of my days;
- looking at a computer screen
- multitasking
- juggling work and home
- people-pleasing
- striving; problem solving
- wearing all the hats
I wore my resiliency like a badge of honor. When life threw me several lemons, I would just "suck it up," keep moving and shoulder the responsibility to "fix it." For years this seemed to work. Publically I looked like I was shining bright; a successful physician, wife, mom, minister, and community volunteer. Yet, in private my life had become a treadmill, and I felt emotionally, physically, and spiritually depleted. And after I continued to ignore God's increasing signals that I needed to change, He pulled the emergency cord on the treadmill.

And as I sat on the floor, wondering what had just happened, He said, "Since you won't get the hint, I will make you listen to me." It was during this time that I began to question if all the achievements, the degrees, the busyness had been worth it. I questioned my worth and realized that over the years I was so caught up in the striving that I wasn't thriving. My joy had become a smoldering flicker due to living life in "reactive mode." Can I be really honest? My joy had been invested for years in external validation instead of my own internal validation. And while this gave me brief highs, it didn't help me cope with the grief of losing my parents, living with chronic illness, becoming the matriarch of my extended family, workplace disappointments, or the realization that I was not living aligned with God's true purpose for my life.
As a hospice and palliative medicine physician and minister, I knew all too well that our time on earth is limited. I wanted to bring back joy to my life. I wanted to live a life of personal presence, priority, and purpose as I balance work and home. And I wanted it now.
So I went deep. Real deep. I granted myself the permission to pivot into a new life chapter. With God as my compass and GPS, I transformed my life from depletion to joy. Yes, my life still has its share of lemons, yet now I know how to tap into my joy and live my best life in whatever season.
Now I help other women ignite their joy so they too can pivot from feelings of being stuck, overwhelmed, overcommitted, and overextended through my signature Overwhelmed to Resilient™ System.
I don't just tell my clients to make lemonade when life hands them lemons. I give them the ingredients (tools) and the recipe (life approach) for the lemonade (a sweeter life of joy and purpose).
"I learned to balance my life and I am so grateful for that"
You operate in “crisis mode,” continuously on the go.
You struggle to live authentically because you are always doing your best to serve and “fix” the problems of others.
You continually push through and suppress your emotions about the work you do without dealing with them.
